Alone yet not alone (movie)

Alone yet not alone is a movie adapted from a book.

It is set in the time of the French and Indian war, where Indians(French) were
attacking farms and villages, killing people, and taking scalps.

It Started out when a family from Germany was immigrating  to America.
They are all amazed at how free the country was, and how plentiful the
harvests were.
And they are continually praising God for His bountiful blessing's on them.

One day, after their corn harvest, the mother went to the market with John, one of  there two sons.
The Father stayed home with his other son, and his two daughters, Barbara, and, Regina(12 and 9)
That day, the Indians raided the farm, killed Barbara's fathers and brother, and made off with the girls.
They both got separated  and sent to live with different Indian tribes.
Barbara grew up with the Indians, and when she got older and Indian named Glasko, a Indian
chief, tells her that he is going to marry her when he comes back from a war trip.

She does not want to marry him, so she plans an escape with three other prisoners and they head toward the
nearest English fort.
The movie shows a very different way of escape then the book, but all that needs to be said is that
they got to the fort and latter they were reunited with their family's, and Barbara found her mother and brother, and they were very happy but not totally happy.
They missed their Father and brother and most of all, their sister Regina whom they had reason to believe
still alive.
A year latter, the Indians were defeated and were forced to give up all captives.
So after a bit of trouble Here mother fond her by singing a song that she used to sing to her children when they were young, alone yet not alone.
And she found here daughter and they lived in happiness, as one family, reunited.

And during her captivity, Barbara would always remind herself that she was alone
yet not alone.
And she always new that God was with her even thought she was separated from all she loved.

Call of the Wild (book)

The story opens with Buck, a large and powerful St.Bernard scotch collie living happily in California's Santa Clara Vally as the pet of Judge Miller. He is stolen by the gardener's assistant, however, and sold to fund the latter's gambling addiction. Buck is then shipped to Seattle. Put in a crate, he is unfed and beaten by the "man in the red sweater". When released, he attacks the man but is badly beaten and taught to respect the law of the club. Buck is then sold to a pair of French-Canadian dispatchers from the Canadian government, François and Perrault, who take him with them to the Klondike region of Canada. There they train him as a sled dog. From his teammates, he quickly learns to survive cold winter nights and the pack society. A rivalry develops between Buck and the vicious, quarrelsome lead dog, Spitz. Buck eventually beats Spitz in a fight "to the death". Spitz is killed by the pack after his defeat and Buck eventually becomes the leader of the team.
The team is then sold to a Scottish man working the mail service. The dogs must carry  heavy loads to the mining areas, and the journey they make is tiresome and long. One of the team, a husky named Dave, becomes sickly and eventually has to be shot.
Buck's next owners are a trio of stampeders (Hal, Charles, and a woman named Mercedes), who are inexperienced at surviving in the Northern wilderness. They struggle to control the sled and ignore warnings that the spring melt poses dangers. They overfeed the dogs and starve them when the food runs out. On their journey they meet John Thornton, an experienced outdoors man, who notices that the dogs have been poorly treated and are in a weakened condition. He warns the trio against crossing the river, but they refuse his advice and order Buck to move on. Exhausted, starving, and sensing the danger ahead, Buck refuses and continues to lie unmoving in the snow. After Buck is beaten by Hal, Thornton recognizes him to be a remarkable dog. Disgusted by the driver's treatment of Buck, Thornton cuts him free from his traces and tells the trio he is keeping him, much to Hal's displeasure. After some argument, the trio leaves and tries to cross the river, but as Thornton warned, the ice gives way and the three fall into the river and drown, along with the sled and neglected dogs.
The dog comes to love and grow devoted to Thornton as he nurses Buck back to health. Buck saves Thornton when the man falls into a river. Thornton then takes him on trips to pan for gold. During one such trip, a heavy set man wagers Thornton on Buck's strength and devotion; the dog wins the bet by breaking a half-ton (1,000-pound (450 kg)) sled free of the frozen ground, pulling it 100 yards (91 m) and winning US$1,600 in gold dust for Thornton. The King offers a large sum for possession of Buck, but Thornton has grown fond of him and declines. While Thornton and his friends continue their search for gold, Buck explores the wilderness and socializes with a timber wolf from a local pack. One night, he returns from a short hunt to find that his beloved master and the others in the camp have been killed by a group of Yeehat natives. Buck eventually kills the natives to avenge Thornton, and he then follows the wolf into the forest and answers the call of the wild. At the end of the story, Buck returns each year as the Ghost Dog of the Northland Legend, to mourn at the site of Thornton's death.

It couldn't Be Done (poem)

It Couldn’t Be Done

      But he with a chuckle replied

That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one

      Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.

So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin

White Fang (book)

White Fang is part dog, part wolf- and he is the only one of five cubs in the litter to survive. In his lonely life he learns the law of the North- kill or be killed. After horrible pit-bull fights can he be changed to live normally?

This is an epic classic that I have enjoyed from when I was little. It was written by Jack London writer of Call of the Wild. It is a book you will find yourself reading again and again.

Chosen Ones (book)

Chosen Ones was written by Allister McGrath. I enjoyed the book because it was not inappropriate (the author's a christian) and it entwined my love of fantasy. It was also written for people at a younger age.

It is about a girl named Julia and a boy named Peter. They lived in Oxford with their grandmother. One day while in the garden Julia discovers another world in which they're captured as prisoners....
This is the first book in the Aedyn Cronicles

The Island of the Blue Dolphins (book)

This is a great story that captures you in a new world. This is what it's about.

In the Pacific there is an Island shaped as a fish sunning itself in the sea. Around it blue dolphins swim, otters play, and sea lions and sea birds abound. Once, Indians also lived on the the Island. When they left and sailed to the east, one girl was left behind.

This is the story of Karana, the Indian girl who lived alone for years on the Island of the Blue Dolphins. Year after year she watched one season turn into another. She waited for somebody to come return her to her people, in the meantime she has to perform the necessary skills to survive. Although it turns out to be much more of a story than that.

Night at the Museum (movie)

Larry Daley was a inventor, he invented the "snapper."
 Unfortunately  the snapper never got popular.
Larry needed a job.
He could not afford his own house,
his car had the boot, and there were bill's that needed to be payed
right away.
Finally he got a job a the museum of natural history.
The museum was loosing money and they were going to replace
the three night guards for one night guard, Larry.
What Larry was never told was that everything in the museum comes
alive at night.
He was angry that nobody told him.
He found out that there was a golden tablet called the tablet of ahkmernrah
that was found in Egypt that gave life to all the artifices in the museum.
The former night guards were planing on taking all the gold in the museum
before they left, including the tablet of ahkmernrah.
Meanwhile, everything in the museum was in chaos.
Larry would have to get them to realize the danger that they were in.
If the tablet left the museum, then they would not come alive at night
 like they usually do.
So together,Larry and the animals have to work together to keep the precious tablet
away from the bad guys.


 It's a great movie.
